MonologueSlam is a nationwide industry showcase for actors from all backgrounds. 22 actors are given the opportunity to perform for a welcoming audience and a panel of industry professionals who are in a position to move their careers forward. This event helps performers that may not have access to the usual routes into the industry and provides agents and casting directors with an avenue to source fresh talent.
The show consists of a youth round (performers aged between 11-17) 1 minute round and 3 minute round, where each actor will perform a monologue of their choice.

Kelly Valentine Hendry has cast TV shows both here in the UK and internationally. They include : BROADCHRUCH, EPISODES, GRANTCHESTER ,RIVIERA , FLEABAG and more recently BANCROFT , TRAUMA and the new FOX show DEEP STATE starring Mark Strong. She is currently casting Noel Clarke and Ashley Walters Sky show BULLETPROOF, Hulu’s second series of HARLOTS, Netflix’s THE LAST KINGDOM, C4 and Hulu’s comedy by Sundance award winner Desiree Akhavan – The BISEXUAL, Gideon Raff’s new Netflix Drama THE SPY and the BBC drama THE CRY starring Jenna Coleman. Later in the year she will begin working on the hugely anticipated 10 x hour drama for HBO Cinemax and Sky Atlantic’s GANGS OF LONDON – directed by THE RAID’S Gareth Edwards. In feature films she has worked on Into The Woods, Muppets Most Wanted to name a few and as an associate on The Chronicles of Narnia : Prince Caspian, United 93, King Kong , High School the Musical and Slumdog Millionaire.
Suzy works as a casting director, theatre director and lecturer. She is a member of The
Casting Directors Guild. She is the UK Casting Director for Shaftesbury Films in Toronto,
working on all nine series of ‘The Inspector Murdoch Mysteries’.
Other TV casting includes ‘Primeval’ ‘Casualty’, ‘Silent Witness’, ‘Hope and Glory III’ and ‘Ny-lon’. She cast the Gregson Award winner drama/doc ‘D-Day’ for the BBC, and award
winning series ‘Sir Gadabout’ for CITV and ‘Bus Life’ for Disney. Film casting includes
‘Stormbreaker’, ‘A Bunch of Amateurs’, ‘Swimming Pool’, ‘Two Men went to War’. Assistant work includes ‘Sense & Sensibility’, ‘The English Patient’, ‘Wilde’ & ‘Hackers’.
Suzy works extensively in most UK drama schools as a visiting lecturer, director and delivering
casting workshops. She is the casting consultant for the Northern Film School (Leeds Beckett
University) and has worked as casting consultant for various projects for Ideas Tap as well as in other UK and US film schools.
Suzy’s recent theatre directing includes productions for Lucky Stuff Productions, All the Pigs
Stuart Permutt’s new play ‘Love and Lust in Lewisham’ which was on at the Tristan Bates
Theatre. She often directs in drama schools and this year has directed showcases for Alra, CSSD and Mountview.
Her work as a writer includes co-author of ‘The Casting Handbook’ published by Routledge in
February 2013, which has recently been translated and published in China. Theatre writing
includes an adaptation of ‘The Country Wife’ for 8 actors and most recently, an adaptation of ‘No Name’ by Wilkie Collins

Charlie is a director best known for Poldark, Doctor Who and Poirot.
Beginning his career in the camera department Charlie worked on a huge range of projects including documentaries, pop videos, TV dramas and features such as Bend it Like Beckham and Star Wars.
His credits include Lark Rise to Candleford, Death in Paradise, Miss Marple, Lewis, Silent Witness and Doc Martin.
Naomi originally trained as an actress at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Naomi started modelling at the age of 16, and after a successful run of various modelling jobs all over the world, Naomi decided to pursue a career as an actress and worked in both television and film, working on BBC dramas and feature films.
Since then she has had her own business in Children’s fashion and worked as a buyer in fashion.
Stuart Piper is co-founder and Managing Director of InterTalent Rights Group formerly ROAR Group.
Stuart began his career as an actor growing up largely on set, on things like The Politician’s Wife, The Famous Five, Tom’s Midnight Garden for MGM….he even had two lines as Serge in Ab Fab, which he still brags about.
In his early twenties he moved to producing, working as a general manager for Guy Kitchenn on West End productions like Death of a Salesman starring Brian Dennehy & Clare Higgins, before co-founding Cole Kitchenn Personal Management Ltd in 2005 to represent actors and creatives, selling half the company in 2010 to become part of ROAR Group. He became Director of Christian Knowles’ CKP Comedy company in 2016, before masterminding the Group’s rebrand to InterTalent in 2018.
Stuart was named “Star Maker” by The Stage newspaper, and his Producer credits include: in Film: Executive Producer on Mrs Lowry & Son starring Vanessa Redgrave and Timothy Spall directed by Adrian Noble, and The Time of Their Lives (Universal) starring Dame Joan Collins, Pauline Collins & Sian Reeves, which just sold to Netflix, and reached #1 in Amazon’s Comedy DVD Charts, Producer of forthcoming Lifecoach feature film starring Emily Atack, written by Nick Reed (Big Finish Studios). In Theatre: he co-founded the Whatsonstage Awards annual live show, Hatched n Dispatched (Park), New Boy (Traf Studios), co-general manager of Death of A Salesman, I Am My Own Wife and The Countess (all West End) and the show it all began with: Snoopy! produced with Stephen Carlile, who is still his client, and currently starring on Broadway
Stuart’s most important production to date is his son Charlie.
Ben Bailey is talent manager for the Actorshop agency.
Ben was raised in the arts. At the age of four he began training as a figure skater and had a professional career for over 13 years competing in and winning over 15 national and international championships. During this time Ben performed alongside Olympic champions Torvill and Dean at the Wembley arena.
At eight years old he became a member of the Anna Scher theatre school and also received a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dance, where he trained extensively in ballet. After a few years with Anna Scher, Ben was invited to join the young professionals group which led to many appearances on television in shows such as Holby City and London’s Burning.
By his mid teens Ben’s interest in all performing arts led to a move to the Brit school and his development as a musical theatre artist. He subsequently joined the boyband ‘Remedy’ and performed at many large venues across the U.K., most notably at the Wembley area with boyband ‘Blue’.
Since his days of performing Ben has gone on to become a talent manager for the Actorshop Agency and uses his creative experience to not only promote the advancements of actors careers, but to develop them as unique and conscious performing artists.
Louise is an established artist on the Soul scene of London and beyond. She has played at Glastonbury and Isle of Wight Festivals, recorded at Maida Vale for the BBC and supported and shared the stage with many established artists including Ed Sheeran (who is also in one of her music videos), Katy B, George Benson, Roberta Flack, Alexander O’Neal, The Stylistics (UK tour) , En Vogue (The Indigo2) and most recently both Roy Ayers and Omar at The Jazz Cafe. Omar also features on her album. Louise’s track ‘No Pretence’ was used on the soundtrack of the award winning Hard Time Bus feature film.She has recently released a brand new EP called Love It or Leave It and has been getting a lot of support from DJs on BBC 1 Xtra, 6 Music, Jazz FM, Mi Soul, Radio 2 and radio stations across Europe. Louise was November’s Caffe Nero Artist of The Month last year.
