Performers from all backgrounds and disciplines undertake a gruelling series of auditions, including a youth round for 11-16 year olds, before 20 of them are chosen to perform in front of an audience and to impress a panel of professionals who are in a position to progress their careers. MonologueSlam UK brings you the newest and most exciting talent in the UK!

Andrew Carson is a Director/Writer from Manchester with 3 feature movies currently in development for 2016/17.
Andrew’s first feature has taken him to Hollywood with the thriller Shadow at 113, which is being developed and co-directed with Jay Oliva (Director at DC/Warner Bros. on films such as Batman : The Dark Knight Returns, Justice League : Flashpoint Paradox, as well as working on 2016’s big blockbusters Batman vs. Superman : Dawn of Justice and Deadpool) in Atlanta in early 2016.
Andrew is also writing and directing the feature film Fade In Fade Out with Maria Giese (current leader of Women Director’s in Hollywood movement and director of When Saturday Comes), currently set for production in early 2017.
Andrew is a big supporter of UK acting talent and MonologueSlam.
Menhaj Huda is the award winning director of Kidulthood (2006) his debut feature film.
Having worked in music and youth TV programmes, music videos and commercials, in the early 90’s his film career began with the award winning short film Jump Boy (1998). This was followed by the ground breaking TV drama Queer As Folk 2 (1999) and a string of prime time British dramas including Murphy’s Law and Blue Murder.
His second feature film Everywhere & Nowhere was released in 2011 and Comedown an urban horror thriller starring Adam Deacon was released in March 2013 by StudioCanal. He continues to direct TV dramas, recent credits include Young Dracula for CBBC and the new Tony Jordan series By Any Means for BBC1. He is currently directing Coronation Street.
Samantha Rigby started her career at Laine Management Ltd at 17 yrs old, working at the family business alongside her mum Elaine Greeley is all that she had every wanted to do, so after completing a year a college she convinced her mum to give her a job as office junior. Over the years she learnt every aspect of the agency, climbed the ladder and is now Company Director. Laine Management Ltd has now been established for over 35yrs and continues to find and nurture new talent and help them secure roles within the Television and Theatre industry.
Nicci Topping – Casting Director
Nicci Topping was born and raised in Yorkshire and operates Topps casting in the UK.
She has many years experience of casting for feature films, television commercials, short films, dramas, pop promos, videos, voice-overs, photographic assignments and the theatre. Her skills are many and varied: Negotiating, casting, research and communication. She has recently cast Feature films; Slapper and Me, The Rise of the Krays, The Black Prince and Northern Soul. She has also cast for many high profile television commercials, most recently Vidal Sassoon, Gillette, Vodafone, Pepsi, Amazon and Tesco mobile. Recent promos include; Lisa Stansfield ‘Carryon,’ Gorgon City, ‘Ready for your love’ and the Award Winning Chase & Status ‘Blind Faith.’
Nicci has offices in the North (Yorkshire)and South (London) and much of her work is done for UK and International clients.
Currently Manchester based, Yoz is a talented and accomplished musician hailing from Bolton, Greater Manchester. Yoz is a highly skilled songwriter, entertainer and performer with a unique style.
Yoz has many years’ experience on the music scene, playing writing and performing covers live in a number of established bands, as well as taking to the road, busking and performing his original material as a solo acoustic artist.
