MonologueSlam Manchester Winners!
Last night MonologueSlam returned to its Manchester home, 53Two. We had an all female judging panel, with Emmerdale casting director Ezra Tren Humphries, Lime Pictures casting director Gill Charnock, and agents Siobhan Minnis (from Red Door Management) and Alex Priestley (from Alex Priestley Talent). We got to welcome back our host Dean Smith, returned from his tour and ready to make Manchester rock! It was the busiest ever Slam at 53Two with people being turned away on the door, so for the next one make sure you book your tickets in advance!
We were entertained by singer Cherri V during the judges deliberations and a good job too as it took our judges sometime to decide – the level of talent was incredibly high and their job was not easy!
(From left to right, Chloe Lea, Stevie Skinner, Lucy Simpson)
Chloe Lea won the Youth Round with her performance of Somebody’s Gotta Win By Rebecca Young, while Stevie Skinner took the One Minute Round title with the monologue This Wide Night by Chloe Moss. Our Three Minute Round winner was Lucy Simpson, with a self penned piece called Proud. Lucy was our Overall Winner and will be joining our Spring Overall Winner, Eva McKenna, representing Manchester at the National Final in London in December. Well done to our winners!
It was a tough decision for the judges, they awarded a total of 6 Special Mentions!! From left to right we have Adam Little (Youth Round), Geoff Dignan (1 Minute Round), Steph Lacey (1 Minute Round), Mike Cunningham (1 Minute Round), Defending Champion Eva McKenna (3 Minute Round) and Keaton Lansley (3 Minute Round).
