With three critical acclaimed EPs, a UK top 20 single with Lethal Bizzle, successful collaboration with Wiley, and millions of views and streams already under her belt, British singer, songwriter and soul songstress Cherri V is a revered musician in her own right, and one of the best pure vocalists to come out of the UK, with the likes of The Telegraph, Yahoo Music, BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, MTV Base, MOBO Awards and BET, all singing her praises.
Born and raised in South London, Cherri V began singing at a very young age, where she was heavily encouraged to sing in church. She remembers hating singing in front of crowds at that age; because she was painfully shy, but her Great Grandmother, while she was alive, persisted that Cherri V sing with the youth choir of her local church. She performed her first solo in a church conference, at just 9-years old, and the journey began.
Cherri V grew up in a musical family, which sowed the seeds for who she is today. Her mother, Alysha Warren, is a successful musician, who was signed to RCA and Polydor respectively in the 90’s. Growing up around such British music pedigree has greatly influenced Cherri V.
In what has been an eventful career so far, Cherri V has shared the stage and worked with some of her musical idols, including touring with Eric Benet, who she grew up listening to, opening for Brandy, Floetry and Musiq Soul Child in London, and performing with Teedra Moses in Europe. On top of that, Cherri V has also been embraced by UK veterans such as Jessie J, Donae’o, Terri Walker, and Kim Mazelle, to mention a few.
Cherri has single handedly written her NEW E.P ‘Brown Eyed Soul Vol 1’ released on May 18th following its debut on BBC Radio 1xtra!
Volume 2 coming soon!
